Kentucky Fried Chicken, Aurora: Makes For Faster Customer Turn-Around

I manage Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant.  We became entirely smoke-free nine years ago.  It was a difficult decision to make because we feared losing our smoking customers.  After going smoke-free our business experienced a greatly improved environment and a decrease in furniture damage.  I am very happy with the decision and it has not caused KFC any economic hardship.

We found it difficult to enforce the impossible -- preventing secondhand smoke from leaking into other parts of the restaurant.  Even though we used to have separate sections, tobacco smoke found its way into the lungs of our employees, customers, and into the food as well.  The change in policy has made operations smoother, provided faster customer turn-around, and improved worker morale.
