Sushi Heights, Denver: Allowing Smoking is a Fire Hazard

I want to tell you about my restaurant and how we went smoke free, so you have more information to support a smoke-free restaurant ordinance.

Sushi Heights is a family restaurant, which opened sixteen years ago. After nine years with a smoking section that always spread the smoke into the sushi bar and the non-smoking sections, we changed to a smoke-free restaurant. Non-smoking customers were very happy, and only a few smokers complained. We lost no customers.

It is a better environment for the business because we are not breathing smoke, and we know that second-hand smoke is dangerous. Now none of the staff smokes.

Ashtrays and grease do not mix – they could cause a fire.
